Ambuluwawa Tower

Ambuluwawa Tower

The Ambuluwawa Tower is one of Sri Lanka’s most unique landmarks. This tower is located in the Ambuluwawa Diversity Complex, the country’s first multi-religious centre. Here, you will find a Buddhist Stupa, a Christian Church, a Hindu Temple and a Muslim Mosque.

Also called the “White Tower”, Ambuluwawa is an easy half-day trip from Kandy. If you’re an adventure lover, climbing it is something you must add to your itinerary for Sri Lanka. The tower looks somewhat like one of Gaudí’s creations, and the higher you climb, the narrower the spiralling staircase gets.

The Ambuluwawa Tower stands on top of a mountain and it’s 48 m (157.4 ft) high, so it’s not the best place for those who are afraid of heights. However, if you decide to climb it, you will be rewarded with a magnificent 360° view of the surroundings.
